Frankie Edwards-Lee, a native of San Francisco, CA, studied business at City College of SF. She has always been passionate about home interior and fine art. This passion drove her to start her own business.
In 1992, Edwards –Lee started Life Expressions, specializing in custom framing, home accessories and fine art sales. In it’s infancy, Life Expressions primarily showcased the work of her brother, artist Lumumba. Later in 1999, a friend introduced her to framing business. Sometime later, she changed the name to Framed By Frankie.
Her client list reads like a who’s who of Sacramento. The Sacramento Convention & Visitor Bureau, Faith Fellowship Community Church, Center for Father and Families, Underground Books and New Faze Development Company, just to name a few, have all purchased Frankie Edwards – Lee custom framing services.
In her spare time, she has served on Juneteetnth committee as Art Director. Framed by Frankie (Life Expressions) has donated various pieces of art to the Jon Johnson Foundation, State Farm Insurance, Nationwide Insurance, AKA Sorority and Millerizms. Frankie Edwards – Lee was featured in the Sacramento Observer as one of the few Black women in the custom framing business.
